I am Olga Patseva, originally from Vladivostok, Russia. For the last four years I’ve lived in China, currently Shanghai. In 2007 I got addicted to surfing after I first stood up on a board in San Diego, California, one of the world’s nicest cities, and also one of the best for being a surfer.

The idea for this blog came to me when this question arose: “Where would I practice my surfing if two, or maximum three, short visits a year to the world’s surf meccas are just not enough?” That’s how I decided to find the most suitable waves here in China. But there is so little information on surfing in the Celestial Empire, and it is not quite clear if surfing exists here at all! This is what I’m going to discover.

In this blog we explore the surf potential of the Chinese coastline and its islands; we ride Chinese waves and we share our experiences. Of major interest to us are both expat and native surfers in China and their impressions here, surf events, travel adventures, and surf discovery.

Меня зовут Ольга Пацева (aka Dara), я родилась во Владивостоке, но уже 5-й год живу в Китае, в настоящее время — в Шанхае. Я пристрастилась к серфингу в 2007 году, когда впервые встала на доску в одном из самых симпатичных городов мира, Сан-Диего (Калифорния). Идея этого сайта появилась у меня, когда возник вопрос, где практиковать свой серф, если 2-3 выездов в год в заповедники серфинга не хватает. А про серфинг в Китае пока известно очень мало и даже не совсем понятно, а есть ли он тут вообще? Вот это мне и предстоит выяснить.
