Ningbo «local» surfer Jon Sims has sent a new update on surf in ZhiJiaJian:

There is a swell this weekend but it is coming from the south as it has been since wednesday. I actually went for a surf on wednesday afternoon and it was quite small... A few sets coming thru but no power. A good beginners break but not much else.

Funnily enough a «life guard» walked up to where I was surfing and started blowing his whistle until someone wiser filled him in. The silly thing was the waves were so small that he could have pretty much walked out to where I was and chatted with me.

The way things are shaping up, the surf this weekend looks to be about the same, maybe a tad bigger but it is probably going to be blown messy...

I'll probably still go though...
